Cherry Blossoms

We made a few trips down to see the cherry blossom trees this year -- they bloomed later than usual, and later than expected this season.  We biked down one night after work last week during the peak bloom....sadly I didn't get any pictures of that.

I did get some during our second trip down over the weekend.  We took the dog who loved people watching in the sunshine:

I also made some cherry blossom cookies based on a design and tutorial from this great book by Bridget Edwards of Bake at 350:

Not Exactly Roughing It

We took a (Dunn) family ski trip to Beaver Creek (love their slogan -- "not exactly roughing it") last week.  I made a few cookies for the occasion:

My mom didn't ski, but was a good sport about bringing along books and knitting to occupy her time while we did, so I made her some themed cookies, too:

We enjoyed several days skiing Beaver Creek (where they give away warm chocolate chip cookies and have champagne toasts every afternoon), and we also skied Vail for a day which was great.  Here are some of my favorite pics from the week:

Mom was brave enough to ride the chairlift up (and down!) to have lunch with us on the mountain

Wedding Shower

It's wedding shower season, and I did a batch for a friend's sister-in-law, whose shower was last weekend.  I used her wedding colors of black, white, and blush pink.

Happy wedding shower, Lora!

Birthday Cookies

Here are a few pictures from a set of birthday cookies I did for a woman who lives in NYC, using her favorite colors of green and blue as inspiration.  I mixed it up with some NYC cookies -- I'm really getting some use out of my t-shirt and taxi decorations!

The birthday girl loves shoes, so I made an attempt at creating some CL heels:

A Cat In The Hat Birthday

I was so happy to do cookie favors for our nephew Ben's Cat in the Hat-themed joint birthday party (with friend Maia).  Who knew they even made Cat in the Hat bounce houses....

I found the perfect cutter in an Etsy shop, and made hats to package as favors:

I also added a couple of bike cookie cutters for big brother Arthur, who is becoming quite the biker these days...

Happy Birthday, Ben and Maia!
