Sweet First Communion Cookies

I was thrilled to do these spring-y first communion party cookies for the niece of a good friend from college.  She requested crosses, doves, and some Ks (for the guest of honor!) -- and said that Miss K loves springy things and blue and green.  Here's what I came up with:

I was especially happy to get some pictures texted to me with everyone enjoying the cookies.  :)  Looked like a fun day with gorgeous weather.

Math-themed Baby Shower

I loved doing these onesies and baby blocks for a baby shower for a local math teacher.  Not pictured, but equally as cute, are the blocks with math symbols... :)

Happy Birthday, Henry!

Tap, tap...is this thing on?  There's definitely been some radio silence around here -- April was busy!

I'm now finally catching up on the pictures and events I made cookies for over the past several weeks, starting with the first birthday of the son of good friends -- I've known Henry's dad since kindergarten.  They requested Michigan State and panda cookies, and gave me some creative license with the rest.

Sadly, I wasn't able to make the party, but they got some great pictures of the cookie tray.  I should hire them to arrange my cookie pictures!

Cherry Blossoms

We made a few trips down to see the cherry blossom trees this year -- they bloomed later than usual, and later than expected this season.  We biked down one night after work last week during the peak bloom....sadly I didn't get any pictures of that.

I did get some during our second trip down over the weekend.  We took the dog who loved people watching in the sunshine:

I also made some cherry blossom cookies based on a design and tutorial from this great book by Bridget Edwards of Bake at 350:

Not Exactly Roughing It

We took a (Dunn) family ski trip to Beaver Creek (love their slogan -- "not exactly roughing it") last week.  I made a few cookies for the occasion:

My mom didn't ski, but was a good sport about bringing along books and knitting to occupy her time while we did, so I made her some themed cookies, too:

We enjoyed several days skiing Beaver Creek (where they give away warm chocolate chip cookies and have champagne toasts every afternoon), and we also skied Vail for a day which was great.  Here are some of my favorite pics from the week:

Mom was brave enough to ride the chairlift up (and down!) to have lunch with us on the mountain
