Sharing a few pictures from an event earlier this fall -- I was so happy to donate cookies to a fundraiser for the Lolly's Locks organization.
Check out their website and mission here. It was started by a friend of a friend and I thought it was a great cause (both personally and professionally!).
I did some logo cookies as refreshments for a fashion show and shopping event at bloomingdale's. :)

Sonoma Wedding
A few weeks ago, we packed our bags and headed to San Francisco, and then on to the Sonoma Valley for a wedding. It has been a really busy fall with lots of travel, and it was nice to save one of the best trips for last. Those who know me know I am an "antsy" flier (to put it nicely), so the fact that I was looking forward to 6 hours on a plane with nothing to do and no responsibilities sums up the previous few months. :)
I made California-shaped cookies with a heart over the wedding location, packaged as favors for each guest. It was a beautiful wedding, and weekend -- and I loved the way the favors looked at each place setting.
Happy wedding, Jake and Jen! Such a fun weekend.

Farm Animal Birthday Cookies
I did a variety of animal cookies for a first birthday featuring a petting zoo of farm animals. So hard to pick my favorite:
Happy birthday, Lucy!!

Bachelorette Party Cookies
These cookies were made from yet another Sweet Sugar Belle tutorial (found here), and were the perfect accompaniment to a bachelorette party this past weekend.
Happy Bachelorette, Jen!!

Dr. Seuss Baby Shower
It was so fun to do these favors for a Dr. Seuss-themed baby shower! I made some more Cat in the Hat hats, and also some onesies too coordinate with the cute striped invitations (pic below). I love coordinating with invitations, decorations or colors. How did I do?
I packaged them together with a coordinating ribbon and tag!

Animal-Themed Birthday
Just checking in with a few pictures from a birthday party a few weekends ago. :)
I loved doing these cute animals - I've done them before, here! (Giraffe design from Sweet Sugar Belle, here; other animals from Wilton, here.)

NOLA Summer 2013
Last Wednesday we boarded a plane for New Orleans....sadly we were not in first class like Nancy Pelosi (who really was on our flight!). It was a rare DC-NOLA flight that wasn't crowded, but I guess August really isn't prime tourist season. :)
It was a great trip -- we spent most of our time there by the pool and/or eating. Among other treats, we managed to get snoballs each day. Just in case those weren't enough sugar, I brought along some cookies.
I came across this great sno-cone cookie tutorial from Bake at 350 just in time for our trip and adapted them to be snoballs in "pails" (aka Chinese food containers, which is how they're served):
And us enjoying the real thing with the nephews:

I also made crawfish cookies, and some tennis balls and racquets for my mother-in-law who is an avid player. Those are courtesy of this design from The Decorated Cookie:
Just for fun, I tried baking cookies on a stick with some mustache cookie cutters. They turned out sturdier than I expected. :)
I am really missing our days (and naps!) by the pool. :)

More fleurs de lis
I ran out of days and time to add fancier details to these fleurs de lis I did for a dinner party we had a few weeks ago. Instead, I just decided to add my usual polka dots, but was happy with the way they turned out!

Happy 4th of July
I was so happy to make it to Harbor Springs this summer after having missed being "up north" last summer for the first year ever. It was even better to be up there for the 4th of July -- so I made some cookies for the parade-watching party.
These firework cookies are the design and tutorial from Sarah of Klickitat Street.
Thanks to everyone who helped take the great pictures!
The parade goes right down Main Street:
Dad had the nearly 30 year old Honda Spree tuned up so we all took our turns with that, too.
Miss you already, Michigan!
